Licensing

Rights, handled in writing.

Three structures. Each one defined clearly before work begins so there are no surprises after delivery.

Non-Exclusive

You receive the right to use the composition in your project. CSL retains the right to license the same composition to other parties.

How the licensing process works.
Every licensing arrangement follows the same clear path.
Step 01

Tell us the use case

Share how you plan to use the music — platform, territory, duration, and purpose. That determines the right structure.

Step 02

Receive a clear recommendation

We recommend the license type that fits your actual use case and provide a direct quote with no ambiguity.

Step 03

Agreement signed in writing

All terms — rights, duration, territory, permitted use, and payment — are documented in a signed agreement before delivery.

Step 04

Files delivered on full payment

Final files are delivered after payment is received in full. You receive organized files in agreed formats.

Common licensing questions.
Direct answers. No runaround.
What's the difference between non-exclusive and exclusive?

Non-exclusive means CSL can still license that composition to others. Exclusive means you are the only user — globally, in your territory, or as defined in the agreement. Full exclusive transfers copyright to you.

Can I use a licensed track on YouTube, Twitch, or social media?

Yes, if the permitted use covers those platforms. Permitted use is defined specifically in the agreement — not assumed. Make sure your intended platforms are covered before signing.

What file formats do I receive?

Standard delivery is WAV (44.1kHz/24-bit) + MP3 (320kbps). Stems, multitracks, or alternate versions can be added to the scope by agreement.

Can I modify the licensed composition?

Modification rights depend on the license type. Non-exclusive licenses typically restrict modification. Exclusive and work-for-hire arrangements can include full modification rights. This is defined in your agreement.

Do I need to credit Current Scoring Leaders?

Credit requirements are defined per agreement. Work-for-hire and full exclusive arrangements can include no-credit clauses. Non-exclusive licenses may request credit where possible. Nothing is assumed — it is written out.

What if I need licensing for a large commercial or broadcast project?

Reach out directly with the project scope. Large commercial, broadcast, or sync licensing is quoted by scope and handled with a custom agreement that reflects the actual use, territory, and term.
